PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insurance entitlement check system capable of checking information on gain and loss of one's insurance entitlement stored in a management system without providing a medical institution itself with communication environments. PSOLUTION: The insurance entitlement check system comprises an insurance entitlement management system 110 on the side of an insurer, a portable terminal 120 possessed by the insured, and an insurance entitlement check apparatus 130 on the side of the medical institution. The portable terminal 120 can be connected to the insurance entitlement management system 110 on the side of the insurer via network 141, such as a public line, by way of a base station 140. The insurance entitlement information to be managed by the insurance entitlement management system 110 is acquired by a health insurance card program 121 of the portable terminal 120 and transferred to an insurance entitlement check apparatus 130 on the side of the medical institution.
