COMPARATIVE TYPE TWO-DIMENSIONAL AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL GEL ELECTROPHORESIS SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide device for separating complex protein sample based on two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, and more robust/easier method of establishing more homogeneous conditions with respect to parallel-processed gel, that is, more reproducible comparison/contrast tests.;SOLUTION: For the separation in this device, 1st separation based on isoelectric point in one-dimensional strip and the 2nd separation, based on molecule size in two-dimensional gel, are performed. Furthermore, the device contains at least two gel strips for the 1st separation step and corresponding gel for two-dimensional separation. Additionally, these two pieces of gel strips are allocated to one side or to both the sides of a single carrier.
