PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light amplifier device having a channel output flattening function. PSOLUTION: The light amplifier device comprises a light amplifier that amplifies a light signal, a pump section that pumps the light signal before and after the light amplifier, a first detection section that selects a plurality of specific channels by part of the input light signals input to the input terminal of the amplifier and detects an electric signal from the input light signal of the selected specific channel, a second detection section that selects a plurality of specific channels similar to the channels selected by the first detection section by part of the output light signals output from the output terminal of the light amplifier and detects an electric signal from the output light signal for the selected specific channel, and a control section to which the electric signals for the selected specific channel are input from the first detection section and the second detection section, and which determines a change in light signal gain for the specific channel and controls an applied current to be input to the pump section in accordance with the change in the light signal gain so that the change in the light signal gain is eliminated.
