PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect component elements of a program such as instructions of an output system that affect other instructions; to display corresponding portions; and to extract and display other instructions related to the instructions of the output system and the like.;SOLUTION: A development support device has a component element selecting means for accepting component elements to be extracted among the component elements of a user program, and an outline information storage part 34b for scanning the component elements of the user program stored in the program means, sequentially from the top, and recording the component elements accepted by the component element selecting means, along with information about the order of appearance on the user program. A program display part for displaying the user program, an outline information display part for displaying the outline information arranged in the order of appearance, and a cross-reference information display part are provided on a display screen.
