PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more precise pull-out resistance calculating method for a multiknotted pile, which method takes the shape of a diameter-expanded portion into account. PSOLUTION: The method is used to calculate the pull-out resistance of a knotted pile 1 having diameter-expanded portions 3, 4 including an upper slope 8, which so slopes that the further it goes down the greater the diameter becomes. The outermost edge of the upper slope 8 is defined as the outer periphery, and a shearing face is supposed, which has a height equivalent to an effective height that is calculated on the basis of a difference between the maximum and minimum of the diameter of the upper slope 8 and of the height of the slope 8.
