PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing agent that includes polysulfides [wherein Sx (x = 2 to 12)] as a main component that can be used as a variety of uses for example, as for heavy metal immobilization agent, reinforcing treatment agent, surface protection agent or the like.;SOLUTION: The processing agent is produced by mixing any of potassium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide or their mixture and sulfur in a well-closed container without exhaustion of the steam in the well-closed container to effect the hot-water or hot-steam reaction to prepare the processing agent including the polysulfides [wherein Sx (x = 2 to 12)] as a main component.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
