PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a highly automated ink jet printing head. ;SOLUTION: A composite structure containing a nozzle layer 10 and an adhesive layer 24 is provided and a polymeric sacrifice layer 28 is applied to the adhesive layer. Laser ablation is applied to the coated composite structure to form one or more nozzle 20 to the structure and, subsequently, the sacrifice layer is removed. This sacrifice layer is pref. composed of a water-soluble polymer and most pref. composed of polyvinyl alcohol and water is injected to the sacrifice layer until the sacrifice layer is substantially removed from the adhesive layer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
