PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain toner for electrophotographic publication printing which can be used for the printing of publication executed by utilizing an electrophotographic method and which makes eyestrain hard to be caused even when a reader continuously reads a published printed matter for a long time by constituting it of grains obtained by dispersing black colorant in binding resin and specifying the proportion of the content of the black colorant with respect to the specified pts.wt. of the binding resin. SOLUTION: When the hue of the printed matter is shown by setting a horizontal axis as the hue (a) and setting a vertical axis as the hue (b), it becomes more red toward a right side more green toward a left side, more yellow toward an upper side and more blue toward a lower side. The hue (a) of books and the printed matter by the electrophotographic method are within an almost identical range but the hue (b) of the books becomes a higher value than that of the printed matter by the electrophotographic method. In order to make the image density and the hue of the printed matter by the electrophotographic method almost identical to those of the books, the toner component for printing publication is composed by setting the content of the black colorant to be 1 to 3 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the binding resin. Thus the image density is suppressed to be low that means, about 1.1 and the hue is made yellowish.
