Method of manufacturing parts by powder metallurgy using infiltration based on iron and part produced by powder metallurgy.The present invention provides methods of infiltration based on iron for producing components by powder metallurgy compositions prepared by these methods.And the methods of designing such methods of infiltration.Methods of infiltration to the iron base includes the steps of providing a infiltrante iron composed of a composition close to the eutectic in the line liquidus a first bond system to BAse of iron and a compacted base iron composed of a composition of dust near the eutectic solidus line of a second system of iron base alloy.The compacted base is put in contact with the infiltrante and heated to a process temperature above the melting point of infiltrante to form a liquid component of the infiltrante.Finally, the compacted base is infiltrated with the liquid component of the infiltrante. During the infiltration, the liquid component of the infiltrante seeps into the pores of the compacted base.
