: Malaria, filaria, Encephalitis, Dengue Fever, Yellow fever and West Nile Fever are caused by parasites transmitted by mosquitoes, Kala-Azar by sand flies and Sleeping sickness by Tse- Tse fly. This invention is a simple and cheap trap to trap mosquitoes, and sand fly or Tse-Tse fly. An exhaust fan with blades designed to centralise air in-flow is fitted with a box type module that traps insects, in the front. This module has louvres facing the fan and bottom plate with a door to remove debris. Nets of different mesh sizes form the remaining four sides of each box. Inner net, large mesh size to trap mosquitoes and the outer nets, small and smaller mesh sizes to trap small & smaller insects form a series of box-type nets. A cheaper but less effective method is to fix a flat stiff plastic net in front of the fan with a small gap.
