METHOD FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF SMALL PELVIS AFTER HYSTERECTOMY

The method for the reconstruction of the small pelvis after hysterectomy comprises the mobilization of the uterus with its adnexa uteri, the upper third of the vagina, the dissection of the vagina, the extirpation, the sewing of the stump of the vagina, the application of the sutures between the layers of the dissected peritoneum of the small pelvis. The stumps of both round ligaments are split longitudinally, 3 cm in length starting from their dissected and ligated end. The split stumps of the round ligaments are placed onto the vaginal stump on both sides for covering the suture line as well as its posterior and anterior walls. Then the edges of the split round ligaments are attached to the posterior and anterior walls of the vaginal stump with the aid of interrupted sutures. The edge of the dissected peritoneum of the small pelvis covering posterior semicircle of the vagina is sewed by the interrupted sutures with the edge of the peritoneum covering the urinary bladder over the stumps of the round ligaments.
