In a process to join two components, the first component advances from a starting point to a second position in which it is machined by a first advancing tool. The second part advances from a second starting point to a second advancing cutting tool. During the machining process both components are presented to each other by height-adjustable jigs. A third cutting tool is located between the first two tools. The two components are then pressed together within a third jig and are joined. Also claimed is a commensurate production assembly.
