Procedure for the determination of the hormonal effect of substances, with the stages of a. contacting the EWS protein or a derivative having amino acids 319 to 656 of the sequence described in Seq. ID No. 1 with the androgen receptor in a test substance, b. determination of the influence of the test substance on the binding of the EWS protein or the derivative thereof and the androgen receptor, or c. determination of the influence of the test substance on the activity of the androgen receptor, the procedure not being carried out in the human or animal body.
