LIQUID IMPERMEABLE BACKSHEET FOR A DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE

A disposable absorbent article has a liquid impermeable backsheet, a liquidpermeable topsheet, and an absorbent structuretherebetween. The backsheet defines a liquid barrier zone on both sides of theabsorbent structure, and a pair of liquid impermeablecontainment flaps overlie the liquid barrier zones. Leg elastic members aredisposed along the side edges of the backsheet, and flap elasticmembers are disposed in the liquid impermeable containment flaps. A liquidbarrier is in each liquid barrier zone, and extends between thefront edge and back edge of the liquid impermeable backsheet. Each liquidbarrier is desirably between a respective leg elastic memberand flap elastic member.
