Disclosed is a prophylactic/therapeutic agent for a psychotic disorder comprising a substance capable of enhancing the expression or function of CaMKIIα as an active ingredient. The use of the prophylactic/therapeutic agent enables to prevent/treat a psychotic disorder effectively based on the enhancement of the expression or function of CaMKIIα (a novel mechanism). Also disclosed is a method for screening a substance capable of preventing/treating a psychotic disorder, the method comprising the step of selecting a substance capable of enhancing the expression or function of CaMKIIα as the substance capable of preventing/treating the psychotic disorder. Further disclosed is a method for determination of a risk for the development of a psychotic disorder based on the expression amount or function of CaMKIIα or the polymorphism in a CaMKIIα gene.
