METHOD FOR THE SOFTWARE EMULATION OF THE HARD DISKS OF A COMPUTER PLATFORM AT THE OPERATING SYSTEM THEREOF, WITH ON-THE-FLY PARAMETER-ADAPTIVE MANAGEMENT OF READ AND WRITE REQUESTS

The invention relates to a method for the software emulation of the hard disks of a computer platform at the operating system thereof, with on-the-fly parameter-adaptive management of read and write requests. The inventive method comprises the following steps, namely: a first step consisting in creating a representation of a real hard disk, in which orders relating to the loading and execution of some of the components of the operating system of the computer platform can be adapted; a second step consisting in loading one or more peripheral drivers onto the computer platform, said drivers including at least one peripheral driver which enables real dialogue with a data storage medium containing the data from the emulated hard disk; and a third step consisting in simulating the behaviour of a real hard disk for the operating system.
