Disclosed are a brain tumor marker for use in the prediction of prognosis of a patient with brain tumor and use of the marker. The prognosis of a patient with brain tumor can be predicted by determining the amount of the expression of a brain tumor marker gene for the prediction of the prognosis of a patient with brain tumor which has a nucleotide sequence depicted in any one of SEQ ID NOs:1-9 in the Sequence Listing and/or the amount of the expression of a brain tumor marker protein for the prediction of the prognosis of a patient with brain tumor which has a polypeptide comprising an amino acid depicted in any one of SEQ ID NOs:10-18 in the Sequence Listing.
