A method for measuring the concentration of blood components such as but not limited to blood glucose in a non-invasive manner is characterized in that the method employs the measurement and analysis of spectra including but not limited to reflectance spectra in at least both the infra-red and the terahertz regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, in each case across a range of, or at least at several significant, frequencies.
