摘要

The front/back of an optical component having a front surface on which a protective film is laminated and a back surface on which a separator is laminated can be easily judged without disturbing the other inspections and without destroying or damaging the optical component. Such an optical component, and an optical component front/back judging method and device are provided. A front/back judging device having an analyzer (6) is used. A cross-nichols is formed between an optical component (1) and the analyzer (6). The optical component (1) is so structured that the amount of light transmitted through the cross-nichols or the hue of the transmitted light when a protective film (3) is disposed in the cross-nichols is different from that when a separator (5) is disposed therein. The light transmitted through the cross-nichols is observed. According to the amount or hue of light transmitted through the cross-nichols, it can be judged which film is placed in the cross-nichols, thus the front/back of the optical component (1) is judged.
