FAULT TOLERANCE FOR MOBILE AGENT METHOD AND SYSTEM, AND THE SAME METHOD AND SYSTEM IN MULTI REGION USING IT

A fault-tolerance method and system for a mobile agent, and a fault-tolerance method and system for a mobile agent in a multi-area using the same are provided to solve a problem of expandability arising in a multi-mobile agent computing environment. When a mobile agent migrates along its migration path, the first host(400) copies the mobile agent and moves it to a host of the next stage, and after receiving a confirm message from the host of the moved mobile agent, if he mobile agent has been moved to a different host as a fault has been erroneously detected, the first host(400) sends a discard message, or otherwise, it sends a continuity message for indicating that execution should be continued. The second host(450) performs the mobile agent which has been moved from he first host(400), checks whether an exactly-once property is guaranteed from the first host(400), deletes the mobile agent and its performing result when the discard message is received, and continuously executes the mobile agent when the continuity message is received.
