A home server system and a user terminal based on an OSGI(Open Service Gateway Initiative) service platform and a home service controlling method thereof are provided to freely use a home service regardless of a time, a space, and a kind of a network. A home server system based on an OSGi service platform includes a wireless LAN authenticating device(210), a user authenticating device(212), a communication agent download device(211), a service UI download device(213), and a service controlling device(214). The wireless LAN authenticating device(210) performs authentication of a user terminal connected through a wireless LAN. The user authenticating device(212) transmits a URL to download a communication agent bundle by the user terminal. The communication agent download device(211) downloads the communication agent bundle based on the OSGi service platform by the user terminal connected through the URL transmitted by the user authenticating device(212), and supports communication. The service UI download device(213) downloads a service UI bundle based on the OSGi service platform by the user terminal, and supports a user interface of the user terminal. The service controlling device(214) performs the corresponding service according to a home service control request through a communication agent of the user terminal, and transmits the processing result through the communication agent of the user terminal.
