A method and a system for providing an ideal type searching service using a face recognition technique are provided to replace an expensive biometric input device through a face recognition and analysis function using a mobile terminal by enabling a user to conveniently create his physiognomical information through his mobile terminal and to seek for an ideal type. A system for providing an ideal type searching service using a face recognition technique comprises a face recognition server(130) and an ideal type searching service server(132). The face recognition server(130) receives a user's image from a mobile terminal(110) or a user computer(112), detects a face region from the received image using the face recognition technique, analyzes the detected face, and automatically creates physiognomical information. The ideal type searching service server(132) receives the user's physiognomical information from the face recognition server(130), obtains an ideal type using the physiognomical information, and provides the obtained ideal type information to the user.
