FIELD: mechanical engineering.;SUBSTANCE: stand with research object mounted on it - intake system of internal combustion engine in assembly with internal combustion engine and its hinged devices, is mounted in echo-less chamber with sound-transparent floor. Body of internal combustion engine in assembly with intake system and hinged devices is enveloped by volumetric sound-isolating cover with input end part for connecting ventilating air-blowing system of stand and with through communication aperture for letting out the end of air-inlet branch pipe of air cleaner of internal combustion engine intake system outside the hollow of cover, mounted both on bearing elements of devices for holding internal combustion engine on stand and on separate supporting post, mounted with vibration isolation on bearing elements of sound-transparent floor of echo-less chamber. Inlet end part of volumetric sound-isolating cover is hermetically mated with nozzle of ventilating air-blowing system by means of flexible vibration-isolating connecting element, forming a guiding channel for directional forced feeding of cooling air to heat-loaded elements of internal combustion engine, positioned inside the cover. Carrying external surface of cover is made in form of solid or perforated sheet, or metallic wire mesh. External surface of carrying external surface of cover is cased by porous sound-absorbing material with protective sound-transparent layer. Structure of cover may contain separate thermo-resistant fragments of casings. Also, through communication aperture of cover mating with air-intake branch pipe of air cleaner of internal combustion engine intake system passing through structure of cover contains an elastic seal, tightly and without any spaces enveloping it in cover mating area.;EFFECT: increased precision and objectivity of performed estimations.;4 cl, 8 dwg
