FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: method involves determining ptosis intensity degree before operation from the following criteria. Upper eyelid covers the pupil to 1/3 of its diameter shows the first stage. Upper eyelid covers the pupil to 1/2 of its diameter shows the second stage. Upper eyelid covers the pupil to more than 1/2 of its diameter shows the third stage. Levator portion is excised allover the whole muscle width and the number of muscle fibers retained intact is counted within the operation time. The first ptosis stage being determined with more than 60% of muscle fiber retained intact, 10 mm height is determined. The value being equal to 60-56%, the height is thought to be equal to 11 mm. The value being equal to 55-51%, the height is thought to be equal to 12 mm and 50-46% show that the height is to be equal to 13 mm. The second ptosis stage being the case and the number of muscle fibers retained intact being greater than 60%, the height is equal to 14 mm, 60-56% shows 15 mm, 55-51% points to height of 16 mm, 50-46% shows 17 mm, less than 45% points to height of 18 mm. The third ptosis stage being the case and the number of muscle fibers retained intact being greater than 60%, the height is equal to 18 mm, 60-56% shows 19 mm, 55-51% points to height of 20 mm, 50-46% shows 21 mm, less than 45% points to height of 22 mm.;EFFECT: high objectivity degree in determining height of muscle portion to be removed.;1 tbl
