Automobile passenger safety restraint control device uses signals from separate acceleration sensors positioned within passenger space and at front of vehicle for rapid response to frontal impact
The control device has an acceleration sensor (8) positioned within an automobile passenger space and an acceleration sensor (6,7) mounted at the front of the automobile, for providing respective acceleration signals, with activation of the passenger safety restraint (9) when the integral of the detected acceleration within the passenger space reaches a given threshold value. The latter integral is increased when the signal from the front acceleration sensor indicates a frontal impact.
