The system has a display (7) on which charts are displayed sequentially. Two separate partial optical paths (21) are provided for observing the left and right charts. A polarization switch (5) is image synchronous with the representation of the charts on the display. The switch separately couples the image information represented on the display from a common part of an observation optical path to respective separate optical paths. An independent claim is also included for an observation system with a stereoscopic display system.
