The method for the tensioning of a Bowden cable entails rotating a rotatable component (4), which is for coupling to the Bowden cable (8), in relation to a base component (12) in order to tension in a first rotational direction the Bowden cable, and to relax the Bowden cable with rotation of the rotatable component in a second rotational direction. An additional torque is exerted on the rotatable component in the first rotational direction in such a way that with increasing turning of the component in the first direction the additionally exerted torque also increases. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a tensioning device for a Bowden cable; and (2) a lordosis support device with a tensioning device connected to a lordosis support for the latter's adjustment.
