The method involves capturing surrounding that lie in front of a vehicle (12) using a camera. An image of a road sign (14, 16, 18, 20) is recognized in a signal that is generated by the camera using a signal processing, where the road sign is provided by the captured surrounding. A snap-shot of the recognized image of the road sign is generated, and the generated snap-shot is displayed on a display. An independent claim is also included for an information system for displaying of road sign for a vehicle driver.
