The coupling (1) has a center piece (8) with an internally toothed coupling shell that is connected with a compensating unit (14), and an externally toothed coupling hub, which is connected with another compensating unit (15). The compensating units are made up of elastomer material. The inner toothing of the shell can be brought in intervention with the outer toothing of the hub by moving in axial direction. Centering units are provided in the hub and the shell for centering the inner toothing opposite to the outer toothing before the mutual intervention of the toothings.
