The furnace (1) has a combustion chamber (9), where an air flow and a fume outlet (33) are discharged into the combustion chamber. A piece of wood grid (15) is attached at the combustion chamber, and is provided for receiving a piece of wood that is deposited in the chamber. A piece of pellet grid (29) is attached at the combustion chamber, and is provided for receiving pellets that are conveyed by the combustion chamber. The pellet grid is displaceably arranged from a layer of the wood grid in the combustion chamber.
