The handle part (2) has a control unit that controls electro magnets (22) of an electromagnetic drive in such a manner that the magnets produce a magnetic field of variable polarity. The handle part is connected with a brush head (7) that is movably supported at a brush head support (4). The magnets are arranged in such a manner that the brush head is charged by the magnetic field for driving the brush head. Each electro magnet has a coil and a core, where ends of the core are arranged at a distance from each other and protrude from the coil. An independent claim is also included for a brush head for an electrical toothbrush.
