The device has sensors (23,24) determining estimated speed based on speed of a rear wheel (RW). Buildup speed of a motor cycle is calculated by adjusting the wheel speed using wheel speed relationship, which is stored in the memory in connection with the estimated speed, also when speed up slip of the wheel changes based on the vehicle speed. Determination of whether relationship is stored in the memory is made based on vehicle delay.
