Biomass is flash pyrolyzed in a mobile unit, close to its growing areas, to produce more concentrated energy material which is transported to central collective processing site for final conversion to usable fuels

A flash pyrolyzed , preferably pumpable, product is prepared from biomass using a mobile processing unit, and then transported e.g. in tankers to a conversion center. In the flash pyrolysis, the temperature of the raw biomass is rapidly raised to 450-500[deg]C, e.g. at a rate of 1000[deg]C/second, to produce carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and methane gases, plus a mixture of pyrolysis coke and oil.
