The arrangement has a mirror (17) arranged in a pupil (15) of lenses (10a, 10b), where an image optical path is deviated by the mirror. A tool is centrically arranged in an image area, and a retainer (6) within the optical path is arranged either approximately centrical to the optical path, directly in the pupil of the lenses or close to the pupil. The retainer is not represented and diffusably represented in such a manner that an operating area (8) is analyzable around a work piece. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling or gripping an arrangement for controlling operating performance of a tool and guiding a tool.
