Method for reconstructing the inside of a corroded hollow profile (4) of steel bridges comprises producing metallic blank hollow profile inner surfaces with a high pressure water jet throttling in critical corner regions, filling and sealing the corner regions with an injected material and covering the inner surface of the hollow profile with a corrosion protection material. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above reconstructing method. Preferred Features: An artificial resin is injected to fill the corner regions and to cover the inner surfaces.
