The procedure for the treatment of biomass containing sludge that occurs in a biological treatment of biodegradable substances containing media, comprises supplying the sludge into an extruder/similar extruder, aerating the sludge in the extruder by gas/gas mixture under high pressure lying above the atmospheric pressure and releasing of the sludge on atmospheric pressure via a specially shaped nozzle, and mechanically decomposing the sludge. The aerating pressure and/or the releasing pressure varies from cycle to cycle. The gas or gas mixture is introduced in continuous or pulsed manner.
