The rivet has a hollow rivet body (1) designed as case, where the body has a setting head and a rivet pin (2) with a pin head arranged in the setting head. The rivet body is formed from a fiber-plastic composite in its socket-shaped area. Wound and/or twisted fibers are arranged parallel to a longitudinal axis of the rivet body and/or the rivet pin in the fiber plastic composite of the rivet body and/or the rivet pin. Binding tubes are arranged and coaxiallay lying on each other with the rivet body. An independent claim is also included for a method for setting a rivet with a rivet body formed from a fiber-plastic composite.
