The device (10) has an ultrasonic image storing unit that stores ultrasonic images sequentially. An ultrasonic image overlapping unit overlaps ultrasonic images, which are stored in the ultrasonic image storage unit. An overlapping image reproducing unit reproduces the images that are overlapped by the ultrasonic image overlapping unit. Images of an overlapping image formation unit are overlapped around a biopsy needle with one another. An independent claim is also included for an ultrasonic image formation method.
