The method involves combining a breathing alcohol measuring device (1) with an impulse-oscillometer (4) such that an initial measurement of breathing resistance of a test person is carried out by the impulse-oscillometer. A pressure impulse is generated by an impulse generator (5), and the initial measured values of complex breathing resistance of test person are stored. The stored values are compared with the actual measured values of a test person. A breathing alcohol measurement is accepted or enabled during the correlation of the actual measured values with the stored values. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing the method for a breathing alcohol measurement.
