The braking strategy involves determining whether driver-independent braking is taking place, if so determining whether the engine revolution rate is anticipated to fall below a defined threshold as a result of the braking process and if so terminating or reducing the driver-independent braking. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the inventive method.
