The unit has an image unit surface (38) with two image units, where one of the image units represents an open image information and other unit produces a hidden image information. The two image units are arranged in the entire image unit surface. The two units produce hidden image information in the form of visually identifiable virtual images during illumination with divergent monochromatic light. The virtual images lie in an observation direction or behind a section of the security unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing a security unit with an open and a hidden picture information (2) a method for fastness testing of a security unit.
