A Silymarin-based food supplement for improving diet quality and reducing the risk of diseases caused by civilization contains, as active ingredient, a mixture of 10-90 wt% standardized flavonolignan fraction from Marian thistle extract (Cardui mariae extractum siccum) and 90-10 wt% pharmaceutically-prepared, dried Yacon root (Smallanthus sonchifolius).
