The winder has winding cores (4) provided with multiple perforations in its core bodies. The winding cores slide on a temporarily suckable and perforated expansion winding shaft (9) such that the perforations of the cores are completely overlapped. The winding cores are clamped on the expansion winding shaft by using a mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic expansion device, during the start winding phase. A partial material web on the winding core is sucked to the winding shaft by using a vacuum device (19).
