A lamp support, in particular for a low voltage lamp is disclosed, with an extendable support arm (22) movably held on a mounting (1) by means of a longitudinal guide, comprising at least one trough-shaped, arched, current-carrying strip (15), made from spring material and arranged transverse to the longitudinal direction. Bending said strip in cross-section makes it straight and permits a change in direction. A lamp head (24) is fitted to the front head end (23) thereof, in a current-conducting manner, with a low voltage means of illumination. The foot end (16) of the at least one trough-shaped strip (13, 14, 15) is substantially connected to the mounting (1) in a current-conducting manner and the strip section (17, 18, 19), between the foot end (16) and entry into the longitudinal guide (6, 25, 35), is in the form of a loop (20), comprising at least one zone (18) of directional change, which is not fixed in space between straight strip sections of variable lengths (17, 29). The invention further relates to a lamp with the above lamp support, whereby at least one lamp head is mounted on the head end (23) of the strip, with at least one light source.
