PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent error measurement in blood pressure so as to improve reliability by continuing pulse amplitude monitoring until a cuff pressure lowers by a predetermined pressure from the lowest blood pressure when the lowest blood pressure is higher than a set value and determining whether the lowest blood pressure is shown newly or not. ;SOLUTION: When a pulse amplitude of a pulse amplitude signal from a cuff pressure detecting means 3 is changed to a peak shape, a temporary blood pressure determining means 12 decides a mean blood pressure, the highest blood pressure, and the lowest blood pressure temporarily. If the lowest blood pressure is higher than a set value, a monitoring means 13 monitors the pulse amplitude from a pulse amplitude detecting means 11 while the lowest blood pressure lowers below the set value by a predetermined pressure. When a pulse amplitude larger than the maximum pulse amplitude is detected in this duration, it is determined that second peak appears in the fluctuation of the pulse amplitude. In addition, a final blood pressure deciding means 14 decides the mean blood pressure value, the highest blood pressure value, and the lowest blood pressure value on the basis of the cuff pressure for the maximum pulse amplitude of the second peak, the cuff pressure for the pulse amplitude of 70% of the maximum pulse amplitude, and the cuff pressure for the pulse amplitude of 50% of the maximum pulse amplitude.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
