A device for the repair of the tyres without chamber, permitting the laying of inserts

The repair tool consists of a cylindrical tube (6) with a pointed tip, inner channels, and a handle (8.1) that can be fitted to the tube in two different positions - one for pushing the tube into the tire from the inside and the other for pulling it from the outside by engaging a slot (23) in the handle with an annular groove behind the pointed tip. The pushing part of the handle comprises a socket (20) with an end wall (21) that fits over the end of the sleeve opposite its point. The puncture is repaired by boring a hole through the tyre (5) at the damage point, pushing the tube through the hole with the handle, applying adhesive to the inner surface of the tire round the hole and to the stem of a repair plug which is inserted into the open end of the tube after removing the handle. The tube is then pulled through the tire from the outside so the repair plug's flat patch can be rolled against the tire's inner surface, and after removing the tube the projecting end of the plug stem is trimmed off.
