The determination of skin imperfections of a person, comprises capturing a digital image (14) of a determined skin zone, editing the digital image recorded as red, green and blue colors by an image treating device, taking out one of the recorded image from three colors, determining lower gray level of the image, and eliminating the lower gray level of the image to a threshold predetermined gray level in order to eliminate the parasitic elements. The determination of skin imperfections of a person, comprises capturing a digital image (14) of a determined skin zone, editing the digital image recorded as red, green and blue colors by an image treating device, taking out one of the recorded image from three colors, determining lower gray level of the image, and eliminating the lower gray level of the image to a threshold predetermined gray level in order to eliminate the parasitic elements. The image is defined by multiplicity of pixels using a digital camera (12), which transmits the image to the image-treating device. The type of the digital color camera is 3CCD. The parameters of the skin are gray level of the image, a surface/area of the skin imperfections that are related to age, wrinkle/antiwrinkle and spots, and a variance in the gray level on whole of the pixels as a parameter representative of homogeneity of the skin. The skin imperfections are determined based on the calculated parameters and the realization of the threshold level of the image on the total surface of the skin. A limited surface has a zone of 2 cm 2 selected from the digital image. Magnified image is obtained by the camera, which allows an operator to visualize the skin imperfections and evaluates the gray threshold levels for the elimination of the parasitic elements or artifacts. The images of the skin are recorded on a digital data recorder device. The captured image comprises an external zone of an eye, a median zone of a forehead, a zone of cheek and a zone of nasogenial wrinkle. Average parameter of the face is obtained on four images with respect to the four zones of the face, which is calculated by a calculation unit to obtain a calibration curve of the ageing of the skin. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process of estimating an anti-ageing effect of a cosmetic product; and (2) an apparatus for determining the skin imperfections.
