A heat exchanger bundle, contained inside a 3-phase fluidized bed reactor comprising a casing into which fluid reactants and cooling fluid (CF) are introduced and from which partially vaporized CF is evacuated, has at least two tiers (1) - (4) of identical, vertically aligned modules, each having a set of identical pins distributed around a common central tube (Tc), for feeding CF to the pins and collecting partially vaporized CF from the pins. A heat exchanger bundle, contained inside a 3-phase fluidized bed reactor comprising a casing into which fluid reactants and cooling fluid (CF) are introduced and from which partially vaporized CF is evacuated, comprises at least two tiers (1) - (4) of identical modules. Each module has a set of identical pins distributed around a central tube (Tc) common to the particular module and the set of modules vertically aligned with this module in the other stages of the bundle. The central tube serves both for feeding CF to the pins of the module and for collecting partially vaporized CF from the pins. An independent claim is included for a method for extracting a pin (designated E11) from tier 1 of a heat exchanger bundle as above, involving: (A) attaching a pin (E14) of tier 4, vertically above E11, using a lifting device inside the reactor; (B) cutting the welds linking E14 to the central tube of the corresponding module, including the welds of upper and lower supports for E14; (C) retrieving E14 from its module using an internal lifting device and placing E14 on the grid formed by the temporary beams, to be positioned under the upper inspection hole of the reactor; (D) extracting E14 from this position in the reactor using an external lifting system; (E) extracting a pin (E13) from tier 3 of the reactor analogously with steps A. to D.; (F) extracting a pin (E12) from tier 2 analogously with steps A. to D.; and (G) extracting E11 from tier 1 analogously with steps A. to D.
