The device (1) has a processing unit (4) executing a canonical regression algorithm and processing data obtained by using a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) chip (2). The unit defines a set of observations, by applying a procedure to an explicative variable obtained from data coming from the chip. The procedure comprises a stage of construction of a descriptor matrix (X) from a sample in which an ownership and a state to be predicted are observed, a stage of construction of a vector (y) of a response variable, and a stage of determination of components.
