PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roadbed compacting work vehicle and a roadbed compacting construction method, capable of inexpensively and surely compacting a roadbed, by traveling on a rail by a vibrating wheel.;SOLUTION: This roadbed compacting work vehicle 1 is composed of a vehicle body 2, a guiding mechanism 21 and a vibrating mechanism 41. The vehicle body 2 is constituted by connecting a front side car body frame 3 and a rear side car body frame 4 by a steering part 5, and is provided with a front wheel 6 and a rear wheel 8 having the vibrating mechanism. The guiding mechanism 21 is composed of an upper side support frame 22 projected on the front (rear) end of the vehicle body 2, a lower side support frame 23 connected to the upper side support frame 22, a support shaft installed in the lower side support frame 23, a lifting arm 26 fitted to both end sides of the support shaft, and a guiding wheel 28 arranged on the tip side of the lifting arm 26.
